Where we work

Emergency response across the Greater Toronto Area and southern Ontario. Each city page lists local services and any municipal flood-protection subsidy we have confirmed.

Toronto

Toronto's older districts mix pre-war and post-war housing with dense high-rise corridors, crossed by the Humber, Don and Rouge river valleys and their creeks.

Peel Region

Peel stretches from the Lake Ontario shore in Mississauga, through Brampton, to the hills and river valleys of Caledon, with the Credit and Humber rivers and Etobicoke Creek running through it.

Hamilton

Hamilton is divided by the Niagara Escarpment into the lower city beside the harbour and the communities on and above the Mountain, with creeks dropping over the escarpment between them.

York Region

York Region rises from the edge of Toronto to the Oak Ridges Moraine and on to the south shore of Lake Simcoe, so its communities drain either south toward Lake Ontario or north toward Lake Simcoe.

Halton Region

Halton runs from the Lake Ontario shore up over the Niagara Escarpment, with Sixteen Mile Creek, Bronte Creek and the Credit River system carrying water off the high ground.

Waterloo Region

Waterloo Region lies in the Grand River watershed, with the Grand and its tributaries running through its cities and rural townships.

Wellington County

Most of Wellington County lies in the upper Grand River watershed, which includes the Speed and Eramosa rivers, with small towns and extensive farmland.

Durham Region

Durham combines lakeshore cities along Lake Ontario, each crossed by creeks running south to the lake, with rural townships to the north around Lake Scugog and Lake Simcoe.

Niagara Region

Niagara sits between Lake Ontario and Lake Erie, with the Niagara Escarpment, the Welland Canal and the Niagara and Welland rivers shaping where water goes.

Brant

Brantford and Paris are river communities on the Grand, with the Nith River joining the Grand at Paris.

Simcoe County

Simcoe County reaches from Lake Simcoe to Georgian Bay. It has cold, snowy winters and many seasonal and lakeside properties, so frozen pipes and leaks in homes left unattended are a particular concern.

Dufferin County

Dufferin County sits on high ground at the headwaters of several river systems, with cold winters and a mix of town and rural properties on wells and septic systems.

Oxford County

Oxford County's towns lie along the Thames River and Big Otter Creek systems in southwestern Ontario farmland.

Middlesex County

London sits at the Forks of the Thames River, with the farmland and small communities of Middlesex County around it.

Peterborough

Peterborough is built around the Otonabee River and the creeks that run through the city to it.

Northumberland County

Cobourg sits on the Lake Ontario shore, with creeks running through the town to the lake.
